Thanks all, we are going to go with the higher deductible. If we are hit than we dont have to pay a deductible anyhow even if they are not insured.

To the guy who says it’s illegal to insure me as principal driver, I didn’t suggest that. I said Named Driver. In the UK (maybe you are in USA) this means I would be a second driver on the car. My own policy already covers me for any car so this is not necessary, but may lower premiums.And is legal if I will drive it.
Sorry, i should point out that I am in the UK and I’d love a local agent but no one seems to do Car insurance as the Internet market is so competetive
