How can I turn a car in to a credit company?

Tauna asked:

Long story short, my mother financed a car with my now ex-boyfriend. His father has the car now and has not yet paid registration and is generally late on the car payments. Since the guy is no longer my boyfriend, my mother and I are completely fed up with the unreliability and we don’t want the car for ourselves. Basically, what is the easiest way to turn in a car to a credit company with as little hassle as possible? How will it affect the credit of the parties, too, if you may know? Thank you!

Who decides who is eligible for a credit card?

AllorNothing AKA The Black MikeT asked:

I just got off the phone because they denied me of a credit card.

They said I had too many credit report checks and other stuff. The reason I had so many credit reports is because I was getting car insurance quotes online.

And other things.

Wtf? Who the hell regulates this? Because it seems the banks have too much power they can control your life. They can decide whether or not you can own a home, or get lower insurance on your car.

But you may say you don’t NEED a credit card. But you will be working for about 15 years in order to pay for a house. The standard of living and your way of life will not be the same with out a credit card and the ability to establish credit.

ok i just turned 18, recently got my own car insurance. I would like to know, if your auto insurance would bring up your credit score or seeing that I have no credit, add to it? I know that some companies are checking credit before giving a quote, but i dont know if it would in any way help your credit.

Thanks

I have often heard it said that the more people that look into your credit report the lower your score will become? If this is true how much is it affected? One point per hit? I ask because I have fair credit, I am applying for a car loan and shopping for car insurance quotes. Every car insurance company has asked permission to view my credit, and of course so are the loan companies. Is this adversely affecting my credit?
