1. yes of course. you can’t register car in any state w/o proof of insurance.
2. it’s illegal in any state
3. depends on alot of factors. type of car, safety features, your age and driving record, your parents age and driving record and location, car for school or business.. etc..
4. n/a I’m in NY.. talk about high insurance rates.. come up here.

You do not need insurance to BUY the car. You do need it to drive the car. It needs to be full coverage insurance if the car has payments. At 17, your parents will be buying the car and have it in their name. Driving without insurance (most States including Florida) is against the law. 17 years old and a sports car equates to high premiums. You will still be on your parents policy since you are under 18. Cost depends on who you have insure the vehicle. Call your parents insurance company to find out. I just read another answer and am addressing a comment made. Florida IS a no-fault State but that does not mean you are not required to have insurance. You will find this out when you try to register the car.

florida is a no fail state which means you dont need insurence
unless you are making payments and this the way the dealer doesnt loose out. with no insurance on a car you pay cash for
if you hit someone no onepays for your car to be fixed and if the person in the other car is hurt you will pay the rest of your life or as minor your parent could loose their house, cars everyting.. seperate insur ance would run you 200.00 or more a month for just liability

1. You can buy the vehicle without insurance, but will need it to get license plates to drive the vehicle on the roads.
2. Florida law requires auto insurance.
3. More than you can pay. Insurance companies will charge an arm and leg for a kid in a sports car, even used. They don’t care about you and the car, just the people you are going to hurt.
4. N/A, moved

QUESTION # 1…..YES YOU NEED INSURANCE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PURCHASE A VEHICLE UNTIL YOU ARE 18 YEARS OLD BY LAW BECAUSE YOU ARE STILL CONSIDERED A MINOR AND ANY ALL CONTRACTS WOULD BE VOIDED.
QUESTION # 2…..WHY DON’T YOU JUST CALL YOUR LOCAL DMV OFFICE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.
QUESTION # 3…..FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE WILL MOST LIKELY RUN BETWEEN $450.00 AND $700.00 A MONTH.
QUESTION # 4….TALK WITH YOUR INSURANCE AGENT.

No doubt the easiest way to get insurance quotes is on the web.
Why would you waste your time on the phone calling around?
the last time i needed quotes on insurance i used one of these comparison sites and it was great.
this is the site i used and it was quick like less than 5 mins.
The last thing I want to do is listen to elevator music while waiting for a salesman.
Anyway I got good quotes and ended up saving money so I was happy.
So shop around and compare quotes which is easy on the net.
Good starting point is at this site.
Good luck.

1. you need to show proof of insurance. so you can drive the car out of the dealer
2. yes it does (i live in florida.)
3. Well, I’m 15 and I pay 127 for a 2002 camaro v6. I get discounts for being a good student and for taking driving lessons.
4. Depends on the car you drive, what safety features it has and your driving record
