I am growing my insurance agency. Any sugguestions on how to avoid the time consuming “busywork”?

I am good at getting people to buy from me, but hate all “busywork”. I am licensed and live in California, and sell personal health, life, car, and home insurance.
I recognize that by not doing all the work, from running the quote to entering the data, that I should not be entitle to the full sum of the commission the carriers pay.
Is there any franchise out there that has people who do all the “deskwork” so I can sell more? Its worth it to me to trade off part of the commish if I can get more people to buy from me. And I feel confident that I can bring more and more people in. My problem is that I lose oodles of time working their dec pages, typing in all their data to the various carriers..
Note: please dont answer if you are a recruiter. I am really looking for a good honest perspective from someone who has been in my shoes……Thanks so much.

I’m not a recruite nor someone who has been in your shoes but here’s my take on it. There are millions of ppl without jobs in the USA… maybe you could hire a personal assitant who has a decent typing speed, split commissions and pay them minimum wage. You won’t ever get someone to do your desk work at a company for free or just haf the commissions I’m sorry to say. Good luck.

As for the life portion, I can tell you exactly what will help. A good wholesaler. Some of the most productive and profitable operations that I have ever seen on the life insurance side (Brokers that make 350K + a year) all utilize their wholesaler to help meet with clients, and “hand hold” the application process.

For 3% off your commission rate, Travelers has a “service center” where they will answer your phone like it’s your agency, and do all the quoting & servicing of your Travelers accounts.
Besides that, you’ve got to hire your clerical help, and train them in how to do stuff . . .and, of course, get them licensed. That’s what CSR’s are all about.

Spend money to pay hourly and train somebody to do all desk for you. Post add at the college, for part time work, if you don’t want spend on full timer.
Make sure he/she majors in Finance or Bus.Admin.

New product goes through final approval and will be released pretty soon. You can hand these policies as seminary gifts to seniors and it will help you build more clientele for estate planning.

You need to hire a part time person to take care of these things for you. If you have a small agency someone working 1/2 days three days a week should be enough. Don’t pay based off your commission, set them up on an hourly rate.
