What option should I choose for my car insurance?

I did a little test to check quotes when it came to auto insurance through Progressive.
I found that I would pay less a month for choosing the option that I have had insurance for the past five years, but when I choose I haven’t had insurance it charges me more per month.
I technically have not had insurance before. My last vehicle was on my brothers insurance policy and I was listed as an Additional driver.
So should I choose that I haven’t been insured? I obviously wouldn’t drive without insurance, even though I do live in a state that does not require it – but I don’t want to give the notion that I have been either.
There’s not an option for new drivers who just didn’t have insurance because they never had a vehicle before.
So I am totally confused as to what option I should choose.
Thanks!
Jeremy

Maybe its because they consider you as a first time driver and the rates are higher, and you cant lie to them because if they found out they will raise your payments. I recommend you to shop around, there are a lot of sites that can help you getting quotes from different companies like this one

geico.com
best out there.

Why would you choose that you haven’t been insured if you were on another’s policy? Let them know the situation.

If you were legally listed as an “Alternate Driver” then you have been INSURED for that period of time…but only from the date you were added to their policy. Choose the option that says you had insurance for the period of time you were listed as an alternate driver.

Being listed as an Additional driver means you had insurance, technically so..
It is either that or you have been driving without insurance, there’s no grey area there.
You can get better prices with Progressive from comparison places where they are fighting with other insurers for price.
I got at but there’s many others around.
